Our company also builds the typical clay courts with gravel slag, apart from our new revolutionary system RECourt. Ever since the game of tennis was developed, tennis courts have been built in the Czech Republic by typical method with the use of gravel slag of all kinds of different qualities and admixtures that the constructors put into the composition. This procedure was changed in many different ways, but there is just one proven formula for quality courts.
The basis of outstanding courts is the use of quality mature pure slag grit into 3 cm, which is not washed by water and comes from the boilers of refinery, paper mills etc. No admixtures such as bentonite or clay brick may be added to the slag. It would only cause the surface to stop leaking water and the pores would be plugged. Furthermore, the soil in the slag absorps water due to the winter and as a result it freezes and gets bigger. Then the spring maintenance is difficult, it is necessary to do some intesive rolling and flattening. The frozen slag absorbs most of the clay and the operation is therefore very expensive. Our company uses only high quality slag, which ensures excellent specifications and long life.
